Dear Members,

Welcome to Spring, hope the weather clears soon so we can all enjoy a round of golf, garden or whatever you enjoy. I would like to personally thank everyone who attended the AGM in Hamilton, particularly the Past Presidents from years gone by in celebrating our 40th Anniversary of the Ontario Association.

I am grateful for the trust you have shown me and will do my best to serve you, our members, as your new President.

A special thanks to our retiring board members Dave Cunningham, Michael Roman and Anne Helliker. Anne will be moving to the AIC Board of Directors in June . I would also like to welcome our new President Elect, Jim Rokeby.

There is a New GeoWarehouse application coming this summer that will replace your existing application. We have committed many hours in consultation with you, our members, and representatives from Teranet and MPAC. This is considered to be a positive benefit to our Appraisal Profession in Ontario.

Teranet and MPAC have been working with AIC-ON, in consultation with members across the province to develop an exciting new GeoWarehouse Multi-Property Search that better meets the needs of Ontario Appraisers. This new product integrates the best parts of both GeoWarehouse and MPAC's Propertyline reports and offers tremendous functionality and cost savings to our industry.

The development of this application was made necessary due to tightening of requirements for usage under the Real Estate Board (REB) sublicenses. Having a real estate salesperson or broker license does not necessarily allow you to use a GeoWarehouse account through a REB sublicense .

You must meet the following criteria:

(1) Both you and your company's primary commercial activity (both time and revenue) need to be derived from trading in real estate as a salesperson or broker, as defined in REBBA 2002 Subsect. 1(1).

(2) In the event that criteria 1 is satisfied, all searching within GeoWarehouse under a REB sublicense can only be done for the purposes of trading in real estate, and for no other reason whatsover. This includes all forms of property valuations.
